What is obe in peaky blinders?

OBE stands for Order of the British Empire. It is an honor awarded by the British monarch for outstanding achievement or service to the community. In the TV series Peaky Blinders, Thomas Shelby (played by Cillian Murphy) is awarded an OBE for his service during World War I. However, he rejects the honor as he sees it as a meaningless gesture from a government he does not support.
